Golf Optional, but Required Social Membership:
These communities offer golf as an option, but require at least a social membership to the Country Club. Typically, the golf memberships are tiered – depending on the amount you play – and everyone may participate in Club activities and amenities, except golf.
Please note: Social membership in the Strand is “bundled”, meaning there is no additional membership fee – just the annual dues. Lely Resort now requires a social membership for most of the properties. This change came about in 2004 – prior to that, social membership was optional – some properties were “grandfathered” with that option. Since it’s now the exception rather than the rule, I have included this community in the required section.
